Re basing 6mm Union Miniatures of Altar of Freedom

Hi everyone,

Well these 6mm Baccus Union Miniatures were painted a few years ago but I based them for the Baccus Civil War rules, which I did not like much but at the time they were all that was out there. Now I have read through Altar of Freedom, which I think is a very good set of rules for fighting large battle from the US Civil War.

So what do I have?

I have 4 batteries of Artillery, 1 Brigade of Infantry and a Brigade of Cavalry. Yes in these rules a Brigade is the maneuver element and the players take the role of the Corps and Army Commanders.

I am hoping to finish up enough figures to fight Bull Run before Midsummer here in Sweden. We will see if I can get everything painted up in time. Then I will use these rules with the Columbia Games Board Game, Bobby Lee, to do a Civil War Campaign.

Lets see how this goes.

Enjoy the pictures!

  1. To me, brigade-sized BMUs make perfect sense for large scale ACW gaming especially in 6mm.

    Nice looking troops!

    1. Thank you Ulf! I sent you some of the info you requested. I agree it will be great to fight a historic battle at the club. I have more Infantry on the paint table.

    1. HI Ian,
Thank you! I like the rules. I have not found any other that work well with 6mm. Do you know of any other rules that are Grand Tactical Scale?
