Improved paint job on Swedish MBT and IFV

Hi all,

I am surprised I did not get many suggestions or comments on the vehicles I painted the other day.

Well I did some looking around for suggestions for painting 6mm micro armor and they suggest dry brushing after the ink wash. So today I did just that I took some light gray paint and did a dry brush of both vehicles.

I think this helped bring out the details in the miniatures.

If you have any feed back please let me know.

Swedish STRV 122 Main Battle Tank and CV 90-40 IFV in 6mm

Hi everyone!

Sorry that I have not posted much this month but I have been busy studying to get my Swedish Drivers Licence and doing all the required classes.

Yesterday I had some time to paint up a couple of test miniatures. These two are painted in the Swedish Winter camouflage and I am hoping to get some feed back on how they look. I have more to paint up but I want to see what everyone has to say before I go into mass production.

The reason for the Winter Camo is that I want to run some scenarios that will take place  here in Sweden in the near future against a Russian invasion and I think the best time for such an event is in the winter time.  So that is why I have painted the two miniatures up this way.

We have the STRV 122 Main Battle tank and the CV 90-40 IFV. Both miniatures are from GHQ.

Let me know what you think, please!!!

15mm Modern Middle East Irregulars.

HI again!

Well it has been a busy week.

I had some time to paint up these 12 15mm Khurasan Modern Middle East Irregulars to fight against the 15mm Russians I have painted up. It should be interesting to see how a game plays out with these two different forces. Hopefully I can get a bunch of guys together at the club for a quick game of Moderns.

Well I hope you all have a good weekend!

Happy Gustavus Adolphus Day! Plus half of my Anglo Saxon 6mm Army.

Well the title says it all!

Today in Sweden it is a Holiday, yes on a Sunday but it is a holiday and all the Swedish Flags are flying to celebrate Gustavus Adolphus Day.  If you want more info on this holiday check out this link: Gustavus Adolphus Day

To celebrate the Swedish people enjoy a little cake. I got four for the four of us and hopefully all will enjoy the treat on this cold dark snow day.

I also had some time since getting back from Paris to work on some of my 6mm Anglo Saxon Army to fight against my Viking Army using the Sword and Spear rules.
Here they all are!

A side view of the troops in action!

It is only half of the Army as there was an error by Baccus when they packed up my order and they left out the unarmored infantry.  Hopefully I will get the missing troops in soon so I can finish up this Army.

The Mounted Thegns

The shields look good!

Waiting for battle!

Well here are the pictures of what I have done so far.

Here are the Thegns ready to add a flag to there flag pole!

Ready to fight some Vikings!

Can you see the axes on there backs?

Next we have the Javelinmen

Some light troops to screen the main Anglo Saxon Army.

The miniatures are full of motion!

Last but not least are the slingers.

Well that is all I have for today. I have a busy week ahead so I might not get too much painting done.

Have a good week!

Secret Santa Wish List!

Hi all!

Well it has been a busy week and I am sorry that I have not had time to get this list posted earlier but we took a little trip to Paris this past weekend.

So for my Secret Santa! First I want to say thank you for participating and this list is just a guide to help you chose what to send. I will be very happy with anything that you send to me. I have a very broad spectrum of miniatures that I use.  Please feel free to browse my posts to see what I have painted and the games I am, and have played.

So for my wish list.

Naval Thunder Battleship Row Game

Hi everyone!

Well I am back for Paris, and I have to say I was very happy to have visited the city and I want to go back again. I will post some pictures of the trip once I get some more time later this week.

The German Fleet!

German Fighters come up to meet the British Swordfish

The Swordfish make it thought the fighter screen

The ships put up a lot of flak!

Bad day for the British Torpedo Bombers. They are all shot down by AAA.

First I want to post some pictures and a quick run down of a Game of Naval Thunder Battleship Row that me and my friend Soren played. It was the first WWII game that I have played with threes rules but they are similar to the WWI rules that we have both played many times before.

The Germans are on the attack!

The fighter vs bomber combat after shooting down two fighters.

German Dive bombers on the attack. Three are shot down by AAA.

The second wave of attack.

The attack force looks small!

One Fighter goes down to AAA.

The Stukas score hits on the HMS Victorious.

So the battle was the battle of Denmark Straights with each side having one Aircraft Carrier and aircraft for the fight.

Now the British line of battle for Ship to Ship combat.

You can see the damage maker on the Victorious from the aircraft strike phase.

Rounds start to hit home.

It was fun and I like the aircraft strike rules and they are not complicated. Technically you do not need to have miniatures but I like miniatures!!!

The Germans send in the last attack aircraft!

four to one and the Dive Bomber makes it to the target.

The Stuka scores another hit!

The addition of aircraft and the use of Aircraft carriers adds a new dimension to the game and can be great fun when we use the rules with a campaign system.

The capital ships continue to exchange blows.

The Germans lose the Prince Eugen and the Bismarck is heavy damaged. The British win this battle.
We played the game out until the Germans lost the Prince Eugen. At that point we called it a game and this time it was a British Victory. The Hood and Prince of Whales took some damage but not as much as the German side did.

Well We hope to play more games of WWII naval combat in the future, who knows you might see a US battleship and escorts fighting the Bismarck soon!!!!
